Non-linear Effects in High Energy Hadronic Interactions

چکیده

The influence of non-linear interaction effects on the characteristics of hadronic collisions and on the development of extensive air showers (EAS) is investigated. Hadronic interactions are treated phenomenologically in the framework of Gribov’s Reggeon approach with non-linear corrections being described by enhanced (Pomeron-Pomeron interaction) diagrams. A re-summation algorithm for higher order enhanced graphs is proposed. The approach is applied to develop a new hadronic interaction model QGSJET-II, treating non-linear effects explicitely in individual hadronic and nuclear collisions. The model is applied to EAS modelization and the obtained results are compared to the original QGSJET predictions. Possible consequences for EAS data interpretation are discussed.

QGSJET-II: towards reliable description of very high energy hadronic interactions

Since a number of years the QGSJET model has been successfully used by different groups in the field of high energy cosmic rays. Current work is devoted to the first general update of the model. The key improvement is connected to an account for non-linear interaction effects which are of crucial importance for reliable model extrapolation into ultra-high energy domain. The proposed formalism a...

In the Hadronic interactions, the point which is less considered is the mass effect of interacting Hadrons on the energy distribution function of outgoing Hadrons. In this article we present a method to incorporate these mass effects which leads us to improve one of the basic formulas in QCD. In the end, we will show how these mass effects improve our previous results.

Hadronic Interactions at Cosmic Ray Energies

General physics of very high energy hadronic interactions is discussed. Special attention is payed to the contribution of semihard processes to the interaction dynamics and to the role of parton shadowing and parton density saturation. In particular, the implementation of non-linear interaction effects in the QGSJET-II model is discussed in detail. The predictions of the model are compared to s...

Status of QGSJET

Basic physics concepts of the QGSJET model are discussed, starting from the general picture of high energy hadronic interactions and addressing in some detail the treatment of multiple scattering processes, contributions of “soft” and “semihard” parton dynamics, implementation of non-linear interaction effects. The predictions of the new model version (QGSJET II-03) are compared to selected acc...

MULTIHADRON PRODUCTION FOR e e FOR FROM 50 TO 61 GeV, C. M. ENERGIES AND COMPARISON WITH MULTIHADRON PRODUCTION IN HADRONIC INTERACTIONS

Average values of< 1- T >where T is the thrust are presented for e: e: AMY data and are compared with their values in hadronic interactions. As far as possible, similar analysis techniques have been employed in the two different interactions. Similar variation with E is observed for this average in both data. The values of < PT> and < PL > relative to the thrust axis in e e are simila...
